Dear APWU Sisters and Brothers,

We are very honored to be serving as your elected leaders of our union.

We have made substantial progress, including  with our new contract between the APWU and the Postal Service. We gained real wage, increases, protected job security, enhanced career work and began to reverse some of the setbacks of the last contract.

Your union membership, activism and efforts were key to this success!

But our work is far from over.

There are powerful forces determined to privatize the public postal service and destroy our jobs and union.

The “APWU Members Unity” Team is prepared to continue to meet the challenges of protecting a secure future for current, retired and next generation workers.

We pledge to maintain the ongoing work and activist leadership to best defend our jobs, enforce our contract, fight back against post office closings, organize the unorganized, encourage young workers’ leadership, increase opportunities for PTFs and maximize PSE conversions to career.

We will continue the crucial fight to defend and expand the public postal service. Our jobs depend on it!

We will work in solidarity with all our labor and community allies for dignity and respect for postal workers and all working people.

And we will be honest with you, the member — Always!

We look forward to working with all of you over the next three years as the struggle continues — for together we can win!

We welcome your ideas, questions and respectfully seek your assistance and support.

In Unionism,

Mark Dimondstein,
On Behalf of the APWU Members Unity Team
